(Rorschach Series)

The series this is a series I’ve named “The Rorschach Series”, taking inspiration from the Rorschach test, a psychological tool that records and interprets subjects’ perceptions of inkblots using psychological interpretation, complex algorithms, or both.

In creating this art series, I employed ink, alcohol, and diluted acrylic, splashing colors onto a dozen canvases.

The images that saw from these abstract forms guided my brush strokes. It was a fascinating journey, as initially, I would see basic objects, bodies, faces, animals and such. However, as the series progressed, it delved deeper into my psyche, each painting becoming a timestamp of my emotional and mental state.

For instance, in March, you’ll see a piece where the inkblot revealed a pregnant nude with a fetus inside, mirroring the fact that my wife was in her second trimester of our pregnancy at the time. In another piece from October, you’ll see my perception of the strength of women and mothers. The inkblot transformed into a striking profile of a woman, a diving female hawk – one of the few bird species where the female continues to hunt during the incubation period, and a lioness, known for being the leader and primary hunter in the pride.
